Germany’s imports from Arab World down 9.3 percent

The German Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry reported that the value of German imports from Arab countries decreased to 9.3 billion German Marks in the first half of 2001, down from DM 10 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year of 2000, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat . These figures translate into a 9.3 percent fall. The drop in imports differs from one Arab country to another. German imports from Iraq fell by 99 percent and imports from Libya dropped by 3.5 percent during the same period. — (menareport.com)
