ALBAWABA - General Motors and Stellantis have announced that they have laid off additional workers due to the repercussions associated with the auto workers union strike.
General Motors stated that it had halted production at its Fairfax assembly plant in Kansas due to a shortage of available labor caused by the strike at its Wentzville plant in Missouri, where workers decided to participate in the strike. This decision resulted in the release of 2000 employees.

Earlier on Wednesday, Stellantis company announced that it would be laying off approximately 370 employees across three parts plants in Ohio and Indiana immediately due to "storage constraints," also linked to the strike.
It is worth noting that nearly 13,000 workers from General Motors, Stellantis, and Ford are on strike at plants in Wentzville, Toledo, and Wayne. UAW President Sean Fein stated that the union would announce further strikes on Friday unless there is "significant progress" in negotiations.
