Gulf Business Machines (GBM), sole distributor for IBM products and services in Bahrain, has completed a comprehensive Linux administration and network training course for four Central Statistics Organisation (CSO) staff at its education center in Manama.

Recognizing the wide acceptance for Linux in the business community, where its features guarantee mission-critical operation, IBM enabled all its servers for use with the Linux operating system, and formed an alliance with Red Hat.

GBM is able to offer comprehensive training in the implementation and use of this operating system at its training center in Bahrain. Four staff members from the CSO were selected to attend the recently held three-week course that was created to CSO's exact requirements.

The CSO is the backbone of all the government IT systems in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and plays a leading role in the implementation of the innovative technology that is enabling e-government today.

As the largest locally situated information technology (IT) solutions and service provider GBM satisfies the technology requirements of local, regional and international businesses and governments in the region. The company's portfolio of IT solutions and services are complemented by an affiliation with an IBM community of more than 325,000 IT experts, as well as a number of international business partners. — (menareport.com)
