Ali Akbar Velayati told reporters after meeting with a French parliamentary delegation in Tehran today that the meeting discussed bilateral and regional as well as international issues including Iraq, West, and Russia. “We also discussed the future perspectives of nuclear negotiations and expansion of ties and ways to remove barriers on this,” Velayati added.
“Both sides agreed that Iran and Powers should move in a direction to achieve a final outcome in the negotiations, and so that Iran would get its legitimate rights in using peaceful nuclear energy and it also acts according to its commitments to the IAEA,” Velayati told reporters.
Iran’s former foreign minister also said that French parliamentary delegation also agreed to ease monetary and banking restrictions on trade with Iran. “The French delegation visit intended to revive already low-level relations with Iran; essentially, exchange of parliamentary delegations would help to melt the ice between two countries and initiate a détente,” he said.
