Some US-bound passengers flying with Etihad Airways will be given free Wi-Fi and iPads during their flight starting April 2, the airline said on Wednesday.
The new offer comes as an alternative to the security ban imposed by the US government on nonstop flights from Muslim-majority countries.
It applies to travellers with First and Business Class tickets on all Etihad US-bound flights from Abu Dhabi.
The new service enables busy customers to do some work mid-flight or communicate with friends and family despite the electronics ban.

The security measure prohibits flyers from packing any electronic device larger than a mobile phone, including laptops, cameras and tablets in their carry-on bags.
