Global Technology Services (GTS), the information technology (IT) subsidiary of the Emirates National Oil Company Limited has signed a contract with Qatar Steel Company (QASCO) for the introduction of a new IT solution.
Under the deal, GTS will implement a fully integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system using the industry’s Oracle platform, to cover QASCO's financial, supply chain, human resource management and manufacturing needs.
"QASCO will be the first company in the Middle East to implement the entire suite of Oracle applications, as the new suite includes the recently launched Enterprise Asset Management System," said ENOC Group Chief Executive and Board Member, Hussain Sultan.
GTS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ENOC, employing over 60 IT professionals offering solutions in ERP, e-business, HRMS, asset management and business and technology consulting services. Through partnerships with various international software companies, GTS offers vertical industry solutions for general trading and distribution, retail, manufacturing, process industries, engineering, services, oil and gas and shipping and surface transport industries.
QASCO is the first integrated steel plant in the Arabian Gulf. Established in 1974, QASCO started commercial production in 1978 and has since consistently increased production levels by achieving new records yearly.
