The Executive Committee of the Emirates Management Services Corporation (EMS) recently met to finalize plans to attract more United Arab Emirates (UAE) nationals into the private sector services industry. The plans aim to create similar opportunities and benefits to those commonly associated with the public sector.
The meeting, attended by Board Members Mohammed Eisa Al-Suweidi, Ibrahim Sherif Bil Slah and Mohammed Juma’a Bin Hindi, General Manager, Ali Ibrahim Kajoor Al-Nuaimi and chaired by Nasir Mohammed Al-Nowais, focused on two main issues aimed at encouraging Emiratization in the services industry: the issuance of new contracts between the EMSC and the private sector services companies which it sub-contracts to, and the drafting of ‘Special Guidelines’ aimed at improving employment conditions and associated benefits.
The new contracts – between the employer and the employee and between the employer and EMS – provide for similar employee benefits to those of the public sector including annual leave, wages, working hours and other benefits.
The draft of the ‘Special Guidelines’ for private sector organizations incorporates all previous legal conditions for employment but also provides for additional benefits to the employees. The EMS is proactive in developing public private partnerships to cater for the demand for its services while maintaining a high level of service efficiency and a strong market presence. — (menareport.com)
