A delegation representing the European Investment Bank (EIB) will arrive in Cairo at the beginning of next month, reported Al-Hayat. Meeting with local officials and bankers, the EIB representatives will discuss the establishment of a European Mediterranean Bank in Cairo. In 2001, the EIB awarded Egypt 180 million euros ($156 million) worth of loans, of which 150 million euros went to financing an electricity generation station project. The rest of the funds supported small and medium scale projects. — (menareport.com)
