Egyptian pesticides manufacturer quintuples profits

The Cairo-based Kafr Al-Zayat Pesticides and Chemicals (KZPC) company has posted unaudited net profits of 10.09 million Egyptian pounds ($2.19 million) for the nine-month period of current financial year, which ended March 31, 2002. This figure constitutes a 420 percent rise from the EP1.94 million earned during the same period the previous year. 

 

KZPC boosted its bottom line through a 36 percent rise in sales revenue, reaching EP58.2 million between July 2001 and March-end 2002. At the same time, COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) rose 24 percent to EP45.52 million, with gross profit doubling to EP12.69 million.  

 

Established in 1960, KZ develops and manufactures pesticides and insecticides to cover agricultural and household use, under license of international companies including Japan’s Sumitomo, British Zenica and the French Agrivo. — (menareport.com)
