Egyptian Health Minister Ismail Salam issued a decision recently banning the import of peanut oil products from the United Kingdom, reported Al-Hayat. Egyptian health authorities maintained that the UK-produced peanut butter products contain excessive levels of chemicals, violating the international food safety standard specifications.
Consequently, Egyptian health control authorities made the necessary measures to prevent the entrance of peanut butter from the UK into Egypt. A similar decision was made in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the same period. — (Mena Report)
