Egyptian consumer product prices up by 40 percent

Prices of basic consumer products in Egypt increased by approximately 40 percent due to the rise in the exchange rate with the US Dollar, reported Al-Hayat . The typical Egyptian consumer, who earns an average $1,200 per annum will now have difficulty affording basic items such as dairy products, sugar, vegetables and fruit. The prices of imported cigarettes increased twice over the past two months. — (menareport.com)
