Russia has banned flights by EgyptAir starting November 14th, official media reported Friday.
The Moscow Domodedovo airport received a letter from Rosaviatsia, a Russian aviation agency, in which it ordered the airport to ban all EgyptAir flights starting from Saturday, official sources stated, according to Russian News Agency (TASS).
On October 31st, a Russian plane with 224 people on board crashed in a mountainous part of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. The plane took off from Sinai Peninsula's Sharm El-Sheikh, a popular destination for Russian tourists, and disappeared from radar screens 23 minutes after take-off.
The Airbus 321 was at an altitude of 9,450m when it vanished from radar screens, the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a statement. The passengers are mainly Russian tourists, according to reports.
