The value of commerce between Egypt and COMESA countries hit to $75.1 million in the first quarter of 2001, up from $58.6 million in the first quarter of the same year, a 28 percent growth, Al-Ahram reported.

The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Commerce Yossuf Botrous Ghali is currently conducting intensive negotiations with COMESA member countries for altering bilateral trade exchange among members. Egypt would like to see the removal of trade barriers in the near future in order to boost its exchanges with COMESA. — (menareport.com)
