The Egyptian government has recently invited private investment, through the build, operate and transfer (BOT) system, to construct new highways throughout Egypt, in accordance with international standards.
According to a report in the Al-Hayat newspaper, the ministry of transportation has completed the necessary studies regarding the construction of such a highway linking Cairo with Ain Al-Sukhna, via Kreimat.
Egypt’s Minister of Transportation, Ibrahim Al-Demeiry, was cited by the daily, stating that a comprehensive plan has been designed to link all Egyptian districts through a network of highways, in an effort to accelerate urban and economic development throughout the country’s various regions. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
