Egypt invested $620 million in technology development in 2001

The Egyptian Minister of Telecommunication and Information, Ahmed Nadheef, revealed that $620 million of investments were pumped into the local telecommunication and information technology sector in 2001, reported Al-Hayat . The Minister added that his ministry focused on reviving the local technology sector by developing the necessary infrastructure and support services. The ministry allocated four billion Egyptian ($863 million) Pounds worth of investments per annum to that purpose over the next five years. — (menareport.com)
