Egypt's urban consumer inflation fell to an annual 9.7 percent in January from 10.1 percent in the previous month, the official statistics agency CAPMAS said on Tuesday.

Inflation spiked in Egypt after the government slashed energy subsidies in July of 2014 but fell in November from a peak of 11.8 percent in October.
