Occupancy rates at Dubai’s upscale hotels went up 26.1 percent in July to 57.6 percent, according to recent data.
Although a rise in demand (up 32.1 percent) and supply (up 4.8 percent) saw occupancy levels increase, it remained below 50 percent until the end of Ramadan, which ended on July 16, showed reports published by STR Global, a leading source of global hotel data.
Following the conclusion of the holy month, occupancy rates eclipsed 70 percent.
Average daily rate (ADR) declined 2.9 percent to Dh614.12 ($167) whereas revenue per available room (RevPAR) shot up 22.4 percent to Dh353.43 ($96).
