Dubai World Trade Centre and The National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia) have formally signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a range of activities that will support the recruitment and development of UAE nationals in the real estate, hospitality, convention and exhibitions industries.
Under the terms of the agreement, DWTC will recruit 25 UAE nationals through Tanmia, working with the authority to identify job requirements, develop training programmes and create a dedicated mechanism to enable participants to develop their skills and career when the training period is completed.
Tanmia will nominate a range of suitable candidates, developing a mix of classroom and on-the-job training to prepare them for the exciting challenges of work at the DWTC. Successful participants will have the opportunity to join the company upon completion of the training programme.
The MOU supports DWTC’s wider programme of Emiritization, which was enhanced earlier this month with the launch of a Graduate Management Trainee Scheme, and which will be further supported later in the year with the development of a national leadership programme.

As part of its overall programme of Emiratization, DWTC added 39 national recruits to its workforce in 2005 - an 85 per cent increase over 2004.
