Dubai Transport passengers now can use their MasterCard cards to pay their taxi fares in Dubai. Electronic swipe machines will be installed in 240 airport and city taxis.
Taxis offering payment by MasterCard cards are easily identified by the MasterCard branding affixed to the sides and back of the vehicles.
MasterCard cardholders will find using their cards in Dubai Transport taxis the same as if they were in a shop or restaurant. The driver will swipe the card through the electronic reader. A receipt then will be printed for the passenger to sign, and the driver will return the MasterCard card and a customer receipt.
