A site, ikaar.com, part of the Dubai e-government initiative, which was launched three years ago to bring together rental properties offered by a number of agents, was recently closed.
According to Gulf News, the people behind the site thought that by showing apartments, villas and other properties the site would become a reliable source for those who wish to find a place to live in the country.
The site, however, was closed 18 months ago after failing to become the comprehensive portal it was billed as.
