The real estate sector in Dubai captured 21.4 per cent of total capital investment between 1996 and 2003, according to a study issued by the Dubai Department of Economic Development.
The construction sector's contribution to the 2003 GDP amounted to 8.1 per cent, which was almost double the investment of 4.9 per cent in the sector.
