Dubai Properties Group signs MoU with Higher Colleges of Technology

The leading real estate company in the UAE, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in Dubai with the main aim of developing a strong Emirati workforce and creating an indigenous training pool for the business sector. The MoU was signed in Dubai by Ms. Farida Abdalla, Human Resources Director of Dubai Properties Group and Dr. Robert Richards, Director of Dubai Men’s College / Higher Colleges Technology.

 

Through the MoU, students of HCT, the largest college in the UAE, will be given opportunities to develop skills and careers in the real estate and other business sectors. “Dubai Real Estate is committed to harnessing local talent and Emiratisation is a major part of our strategy for the UAE, as offering job opportunities for UAE nationals in our organization has always been on our agenda ” said Farida Abdalla from Dubai Properties Group”.  “Our partnership with HCT supports the company’s aim to develop human resources in the UAE and create a dynamic national workforce.” adds Farida.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Robert Richards said: “HCT is proud to partner with Dubai Properties, an Emirates Group company, which will enable us to forge a strong working relationship for the benefit of our academic efforts, as  I’m sure it will also encourage further initiatives between us”.

Dubai Properties Group has further plans to sponsor a number of HCT students at the beginning of each academic year, in addition to offering support in work placement  according to the requirements of the students and shall cooperate with HCT on the prospects of students’ part time and summer jobs. Fostering the spirit of creativity among HCT students, Dubai properties will also explore the establishment of an annual scientific award based on engineering projects by HCT students.

 

The MOU sets the stage for further cooperation between the two parties to work together on the sponsorship of other events and activities of the HCT by Dubai Properties Group.  HCT students will undertake a range of initiatives including scholarships and sponsorships that offer exposure to business practices to build on-the-job skills.

Additionally, support will be provided to selected HCT students in their academic study, several mutual cooperation agreements between the two parties will also be explored.

 

“HCT has a mandate to develop the national workforce and introduce innovative technologies to the UAE and GCC region,” stated Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor, Higher Colleges Technology. “We believe this MoU will provide our students with a solid incentive to launch successful careers.” The agreement with HCT is the latest in a series of steps Dubai Properties has taken to provide employment and training opportunities to UAE nationals.
