The number of disputes between landlords and tenants in Dubai has risen in the first eight months of 2006, nearly reaching last year's total case load. According to Gulf News, the majority of the cases deals with rental hikes over Dubai's 15 per cent cap, which expires in November.
Over 2,200 cases have been dealt by Dubai Municipality this year, compared to just over 3,000 in the whole of 2005, according to municipality's rents committee.
