According to Al-Khaleej newspaper (July 3, 2005), official sources indicated that Dh 17.5 billion of overall land exchange was executed in Dubai in the first half of the current year. This included 2,673 land sale transactions valued Dh 9.97 billion, 1,643 mortgage transactions valued Dh 6.76 billion and 777 contribution transactions valued Dh 715.38 million. The area of the total sold land in Dubai amounted to 67.11 million cubic feet in the first half of 2005, of which 48.02 million cubic feet of space land and the rest was built land.
