Dubai’s Jumbo Electronics expands its international presence

The Dubai-headquartered Jumbo Electronics has extended its reach to the US markets, to be handled by its Japan office. The consumer electronics company made the foray at the start of the year and will be pushing its own brand in American markets, confirmed a press release. 

 

Closer to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the group has opened an office in Nigeria. As for its entry into Saudi Arabia, "We have explored the routes into Saudi Arabia and what we will do there is under discussion. An entry should be had in coming months," said chief operating officer of Jumbo Electronics, Vishesh Bhatia.  

 

In the UAE, the group is on schedule to expand retail network to 50 outlets from the present 30. "Our forecasts for 2002 include a 30 percent growth. Telecommunications has come on strongly to be our strongest performer now," added Bhatia 

 

Jumbo Electronics Company was founded in 1974. Its UAE presence encompasses the seven Emirates and is one of the largest distributors of Sony products in the region. Jumbo is an international industrial and trading conglomerate with interests including consumer electronics and durables, tires and tubes, brewing and distilling products, chemicals, machinery and equipment. — (menareport.com)
