ALBAWABA - As per the latest Global Risks Report from the World Economic Forum, cybersecurity now stands as a pivotal risk on the global stage, both presently and in the foreseeable future.

Projections from Cybersecurity Ventures paint a grim picture, estimating that the annual economic toll of cyber crimes is poised to surge to a staggering $10.5 trillion by the year 2025.

In an exclusive interview with AA News, Cybersecurity Expert Baran Erdogan underscored the need to recognize cyber attacks as ubiquitous and easily executable criminal endeavors in this new era. Erdogan anticipates a future where human and artificial intelligence collaborate in carrying out attacks, fueled by the relentless integration of AI into every facet of human life.

Erdogan shed light on the profound economic implications of cyber attacks, emphasizing that the damages routinely soar into the billion-dollar range. He emphatically stressed the imperative for organizations to adopt a comprehensive strategy, encompassing all potential points of vulnerability. Erdogan cautioned against the oversight or neglect of protective measures, underscoring the significant risks such oversights could entail.

For companies deeply enmeshed in digitization, Erdogan identified cyber attacks as an eminent threat. With the frequency of attacks on the rise, the motivations of attackers, and consequently, the damages incurred, are on an upward trajectory.

Erdogan cautioned that thwarting attacks orchestrated with artificial intelligence will become an increasingly formidable challenge, necessitating the development of AI defense systems capable of dynamically adapting to counter evolving AI-driven threats.
