December 31, 2003 has been set as a deadline to receive compensation claims for the aftermath of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in August 1990, from those affected in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

A statement released by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) stated that the UN indemnity committee would not consider any claims submitted after the above deadline.

DCCI urged all those who have not submit their claims for compensation, particularly all of DCCI’s members who have been affected, to apply as soon as possible.

Following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, the Chamber advised Dubai's traders and others affected by the invasion, to hurry in submitting their compensation claims. All parties affected submitted their claims, and they were compensated. — (menareport.com)
