Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) will collaborate with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Red Crescent (UAERC) for the popular annual Ramadan campaign, ‘Dubai the city that cares 2002’.
The 41-day fund-raising event will highlight the importance of charitable initiatives around the world while promoting Dubai as a destination during the Holy Month. ‘Dubai: the city that cares 2002’ brings together the values of sharing and contribution that are at the core of the holy month of Ramadan, with the festive and shopping aspects that have become associated with this religious event.
It is the first time in the four year history of ‘Dubai the city that cares’ that DCCI has invited charities and non-profit organisations to directly participate in the event, with UAERC involved on the local level and UNICEF on a global level. Initiatives taken by DCCI with UAERC and UNICEF will encourage people of all nationalities to support children and the retail sector will be activated through promotional activities to ensure maximum donations to worthy causes.
For the past four years, DCCI has been organizing this annual promotional campaign under the motto of “Dubai the city that cares”. This year, the partnership with UNICEF and UAERC is expected to further develop the concept to incorporate a charitable element for children of the world.
UNICEF’s mission includes supporting young people, wherever they are, in making informed decisions about their own lives, and it strives to build a world in which all children live in dignity and security.
The UAERC is the first Arab charity organization and among the world's leading seven societies in terms of administering aid to needy people all over the world. — (menareport.com)
