The government of Cyprus put the construction of five marinas up for bid under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) system. The deadline for tender applications is set for November 29, reported a government press release. The marinas will be built at the island’s southern coastal towns of Paphose, Larnaca, Paralimni, Ayia Napa and Limassol.
There are presently two Marinas in Cyprus, one in Larnaka and one in Limassol. Larnaka Marina is situated in the bay of Larnaka and lies 110 nautical miles (nm) from Beirut and Tripoli, 182 nm from Tel-Aviv, 230 nm from Port-Said and 300 nm from Rhodes. The Marina, an official port of entry, has berthing facilities for 450 yachts of various sizes. — (menareport.com)
