Centurion Energy has reported that that the Sherbean oilfield commenced production on October 2, 2003, from the company's South Manzala Development Lease located in Egypt's Nile delta region.

Production from the Sherbean field, in addition to production from the Abu Monkar field which commenced on October 1, 2003, has brought total early production from the South Manzala fields to approximately 25 million cubic feet per day. With the addition of the Sherbean production, company-wide production is now approximately 8,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd).

As previously stated, installation of compression equipment has started, with completion expected by mid November, 2003, at which time the Gelgel field will be tied in and total production from the South Manzala Development Lease will reach the contracted level of 35 million cubic feet per day. At that time, with all three fields in the South Manzala Development Lease tied in, company-wide production will exceed 10,000 boepd. — (menareport.com)
