During February 25-28, 2001, Gulfood, the Gulf Food, Hotel and Equipment Exhibition will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Canada will be participating at the event for the fourth consecutive year. The food and beverage industry is Canada's second-largest manufacturing industry and a major exporter.
Canada currently exports food products to almost 200 countries, including all GCC countries. Dubai has become a regional hub for Canada's export of such products to the Gulf, India, Pakistan and Africa The US will stage its largest-ever participation in the 8th annual event. Gulfood's profile includes food and beverage products, hotel refrigeration and catering equipment, hotel supplies and services, food processing machinery, food packaging and labeling equipment, disposable items, and hospitality information systems.
In addition to the US and Canada, the other national pavilions in the show include Cyprus, Turkey, the Netherlands, Egypt, Jordan, Hungary, Singapore, Taiwan, Spain, Italy, France, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Germany (Bavaria), Belgium, and the UK. -(Albawaba-MEBG)
