Cairo bourse begins week on positive note

On Sunday, July 12, the CASE continued its upward trend adding to its gains made last week. The PAMI index added 67 points or 1.11 percent to close at 6,090.0.  

 

Most stocks posted gains excluding Lakah Group which fell limit down to a new low of LE0.39, after newspapers stated that Chairman Ramy Lakah was revoked from his parliament immunity.  

 

Banking stocks gained more ground with CIB edging up 1.97 percent and EAB gaining 3.56 percent.  

 

Telecom operators fared well as OT rose 4.99 percent to LE18.02, ignoring its GDS price of LE16.63, while MobiNiL added 1.96 percent. Elsewhere, Media Production City remained on its upward trend to record another rise to LE9.42.  

 

 

In the cement sector, Suez Cement followed its GDR in London, but only gained 2.99 percent to LE34.45, still 2.0 percent below its GDR.
