BUPA Middle East wins Best Health Insurance Company award

The Health Committee of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recently held a ceremony at the Hilton Hall in Jeddah Hilton Hotel to present BUPA Middle East with its award for Best Health Insurance Company for 2004. Second place went to CARS Health Insurance Company. The results were determined by a questionnaire sent by the Health Service Committee in Jeddah’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the members of the Committee and the leading hospitals in Jeddah.

 

The event was attended by Dr. Ghassan Al Sulaiman, Chairman of the Board of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eng. Sobhi Batterjee, Head of the Health Service Committee in Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Yasser Al Ghamdi of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Khaldoun Barakat, Head of the JCCI Insurance Committee, and other guests from private and government hospitals.

 

Eng. Sobhi Batterjee said that the results of the annual voting showed that BUPA is considered to be the best health insurance provider because of the high quality services offered to its clients and its excellent relations with hospitals.

 

Eng. Batterjee went on to say that this annual award is intended to act as motivator for all the Kingdom’s health insurance companies to enhance their services and benefits for Saudi nationals and other residents.

 

Accepting the award, Eng. Loay Nazer, Chairman of BUPA ME, said, “This honour is granted yearly to the health insurance company that shows the most commitment to developing and improving the health care sector by working hand-in-hand with hospitals and clinics in the Kingdom. He went on to say that, "for the past eight years, BUPA Middle East has been a driving force in the health insurance industry and is now entering the new cooperative insurance market as it undertakes the final stages of certification under the new insurance regulations being implemented in the Kingdom.

 

Eng. Nazer also expressed his gratitude to the BUPA Middle East team for its continual customer dedication, pointing out that within the past eight years BUPA Middle East has captured approximately 14% of the market with more than 130,000 members in over 350 companies, representing all business and industry sectors of Saudi Arabia.  The company is currently witnessing a staggering growth rate of 15% per annum.
