Batelco has signed a marketing partnership agreement with technology company Ericsson. The deal binds the two companies to work closely together on developing technical and marketing solutions especially tailored for the Bahrain market.

As well as sharing sensitive information on their future strategies for Bahrain and the wider region, the Batelco-Ericsson working group will create fast-stream marketing processes to ensure the quick transfer of technology and products between the two. As part of this, Batelco will be able to buy Ericsson equipment and services at favorable terms and conditions and also have access to latest technologies in the telecom industry.

The fast stream marketing, sales, knowledge transfer and purchase processes agreed with Ericsson will benefit many of Batelco's product areas. Initially these will be Batelco Mobile GSM and next generation networks, but improvements and upgrades to applications, fixed line systems, operations, maintenance management systems and Batelco's network will reap big returns for customers.

The deal also provides Batelco with 3G capability, and allows the company to thoroughly review its potential application for the Bahrain market. — (menareport.com)
