Baker Energy, a unit of the Michael Baker Corporation, has been awarded a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract by Burlington Resources to provide operations and maintenance support personnel for Burlington's oil and gas production facilities in Block 405a of the Sahara Desert in Algeria.
The company has opened an office in Hassi Messaoud, Algeria, and will manage the contract from this location. Under this agreement, Baker will provide a wide range of personnel services to Burlington assisting with pre-operations planning, operability and maintainability reviews of production processes and systems, and competency assurance during the pre-production phase of the Menzel Lejmat north (MLN) project.
Baker's personnel will then be providing operational support for the pre- commissioning, commissioning, start-up and long-term operation and maintenance of the production facilities.
