At least BD73.5 million (just over US$194 million) is owed to the government in outstanding fees and debts, MPs were told Tuesday, according to the GDN. The outstanding figure was identified in the 2004 Financial Audit Bureau report and will have increased since then, parliament was told, according to the papar.
Most of the amount was owed to the Electricity and Water Ministry, with BD44.7m in unpaid bills.
