Bahrain: Kanoo Group, Emaar Engineering sign mosque construction agreement

A new mosque is to be built in New Tubli, thanks to a donation from Shaikha Khalil Kanoo. E K Kanoo Group president Mohammed Kanoo signed an agreement with Emaar Engineering executive director Aaref Hejres.

 

The project will benefit the residents of New Tubli, at Road No 77 leading to Jidali. The mosque will include a variety of annexes to meet community needs, said Mr Kanoo.

 

Its main structure will include a prayer hall for 500 men and another prayer hall for 70 women. The mosque will have an additional outer prayer space to accommodate 300 people, GDN reported.

 

The mosque consists of 1,600 square metres of area. its annexes include a special functions and ceremonies hall, Holy Quran reading hall, a library, two residential flats for the mosque's Emam and Al Moathen (the prayer caller), service units and support facilities. This mosque is expected to be ready for opening in 2007, said Mr Kanoo.
