The State of Bahrain recently announced that it will decrease its import tax on all merchandise from 7.5 percent to five percent and its import tax on cars from 15 percent to five percent to be effective as of January 2002, reported KSA Today .
The reductions follow the framework of the unification of custom rates in the Arabian Gulf states for 2003. In January 2000, Bahrain decreased its import tax from 12 percent to 7.5 percent and its import tax on cars from 20 percent to 15 percent. — (menareport.com)
