Asteco United, a Junior Football League team sponsored by Asteco, celebrated a stunning victory scoring a total of 37 points at the Jumeirah Football League, held from 28 April to 26 May, 2005.

Playing for the ‘under nine first division’, Asteco United played 16 matches through the summer season, of which they won 12 matches and drew one. The triumphant winners stole the trophy with an outstanding 20 goals.

On receiving the trophy, team captain, Edward Jones said: “This is our first victory, which makes the win even greater. We won most of the matches, but more importantly, we enjoyed ourselves. We are more confident now, and eagerly look forward to the next season.”

“We have been supporting the team since 2003 and are delighted with this victory,” said Elaine Jones, CEO, Asteco. “We believe Asteco United will notch up bigger wins in the future. With the right direction, enthusiasm and support, soccer in Dubai will soon gain the recognition it deserves.”

By sponsoring the team, Asteco is investing in training, pitch hire, prizes and equipment for players, besides providing them with the much-needed financial support.

The Junior Football League was formed in 2001 to provide all children in the UAE a chance to take part in a professionally managed soccer league. There are now over 40 teams taking part in the JFL in five separate age groups as well as eleven separate divisions, ensuring that players only compete against others of a similar age and ability level.
Founded in Dubai in 1985, Asteco is the UAE’s largest property management company. Its services include retail, commercial and residential sales and leasing; strategic consultancy; property marketing; feasibility studies and evaluations; and research and investment.
