In protest of US support for Israel, Iran has issued a ban on advertising American goods. The government enforced the restriction on the recommendation of the nation's Society for Defending Palestine, reported AP.
Over the past year, popular committees in the Middle East have been calling to widen the boycott against US-made products and services in light of American support for Israel. Products on the embargo list include McDonald’s, Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Marlboro and Heinz.
Washington broke off relations with Tehran in 1980 after a hostage crisis at the US embassy in Tehran, and imposed an oil embargo on the country in 1995. Last year, US President George W. Bush extended the embargo for another five years. — (menareport.com)
