Al-Maha Petroleum centralizes control of nationwide gas stations

Al-Maha Petroleum has successfully centralized the operation of its gas stations across Oman, with the deployment of Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Al-Maha's IT department chose the Microsoft platform as their integrated turnkey software solution, the Petroleum Retail Automation Management System (PRAMS).  

 

PRAMS has been designed as a fully functional software solution customized to Al-Maha's specific IT requirements, including Point Of Sale (POS), Back Office (BOS), Head Office (HOS) and Decision Support (DSS) functionality.  

 

SQL Server 2000 is Microsoft's complete database and analysis offering for rapidly delivering the next generation of scalable e-commerce, line-of-business and data warehousing solutions. 

 

Al-Maha Petroleum Product Marketing Company was established in 1993/94 as a joint effort of the Omani Refinery and the Government of Oman. Within this period Al-Maha has grown in size to a total of 70 Gas stations, During 1999 Al-Maha saw a growth of more than 20 new stations, Al-Maha anticipates similar growth in the coming few years. — (menareport.com)
