French manufacturer of low voltage electrical installation products Legrand Group has opened a new customer center in Dubai through its sole distributor, Al-Hathboor Electricals. The 400 square meter center, one of a kind in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will serve as a showroom and a training facility for a variety of clients.

In the Middle East, Legrand's turnover is about $65 million, according to a company press release. Legrand fittings and accessories have been used in a number of projects in the region, notably the residential complex at Dubai Internet City, the Holiday Inn-Bur Dubai, the Skywalk Towers, the Abu Dhabi Trade Center and the Al Faisaliyah Tower in Riyadh.

"The opening of this facility reflects our desire to further strengthen the strategic alliance with Al-Hathboor Group in pursuit of our program of expansion in international markets," said Legrand Managing Director Gilles Schnepp.

“As the regional trade and tourism hub, the UAE is a key market for the Legrand Group because of the enormous scale of construction and industrial activity that is currently taking place in this country and also other huge projects that are in the pipe-line,” Schnepp added.

The center will have staff trained by Legrand Group and will be jointly managed by Legrand Group's regional office and Al-Hathboor Electricals, one of 13 divisions of the Al-Hathboor Group. Companies that have purchased Legrand products can also send their technicians from across the Middle East region, Iran and the Indian sub continent to the center to receive hands-on training on the first floor.

Legrand Group manufactures products for use in industrial, commercial, health care and residential projects including circuit breakers, distribution cabinets and enclosures, wiring accessories, emergency lighting and security systems and cable management products. The Group's customers represent a broad spectrum of sectors including deluxe hotels, residences, hospitals, government establishments and commercial complexes.

Established in 1860, the Group has plants or subsidiaries in over 50 countries including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran and Turkey with a total workforce of 28,000. Over four percent of its annual turnover, exceeding three billion dollars, is used for research and development. — (menareport.com)
