Al-Habtoor wins building contract of the Al-Raha resort

Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises has been contracted by the Abu Dhabi Works Department to build the five-star hotel and shopping center in the Al-Raha Resort of Abu Dhabi, valued at 160 million Emirati Dinars ($43.56 million), reported Gulf News. Both facilities are expected to become fully operational by April 2003.  

 

The tender awarded to Al-Habtoor constitutes the resort’s second construction phase. The first stage was initiated in 2000 with the construction of 23 chalets. Tenders for the third phase will be announced in January 2002. 

 

The Dh330-million ($89.85 million) resort will be developed near the City of Sheikh Khalifa. The beachfront hotel will have 90 rooms and 11 suites and the mall will be built on 30,000 square meters of land. Al-Raha will also feature restaurants, an artificial marina and water sports.
