Mr. Asem Jihad, Spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, said that two contracts were recently signed with two international companies to develop the benzene production facility at the Al-Dora refinery. The project enables the refinery to produce larger benzene amounts as of this year, the official added.
It's worth mentioning that the Al-Dora refinery produces one third of Iraq’s gasoline. The Al Dora refinery is working, pumping more than 45,000 barrels per day, according to Thamir Abbas Ghadhban, the ministry's director general of planning. The war affected some pipelines, but serious damage was rare.
