Jebel Ali-based Aggreko Power Projects has signed a contract with Bluewater Energy Services, a Dutch company specializing in the lease and operation of tanker-based Production and Storage systems, to conduct a 10 MVA / 6.6 kilovolt load test.

The Aggreko loadbank package will be used to test the gas turbines on board the FPSO Glas Dowr, a floating production storage and offloading vessel during a forthcoming. The Glas Dowr, which is the fifth Bluewater designed, built, owned and operated FPSO, will operate on behalf of PetroSA at the Sable Field in the Bredasdorp basin offshore South Africa.

The Aggreko loadbank package, which was shipped in August from Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Cape Town South Africa, includes 2 x 5 MVA loadbanks and 2 x 6.3 MVA transformers. Aggreko is also providing engineering support to commission and subsequently operate the equipment. The initial test program will run for two weeks.

Aggreko has a network of eight locations across the Middle East and over 130 locations worldwide. Headquartered in the Netherlands, the company offers temporary power and temperature control services. Their products include generators, loadbanks, transformers and ancillary products offering power from 15 kVA in a single unit to the design, installation and operation of complete multi-megawatt power packages.

Aggreko temperature control services include fluid chillers, heavy-duty air conditioners, heat exchangers and ancillary products for a wide range of industrial and commercial cooling applications. — (menareport.com)
