Acer Computer has signed a new partnership agreement with Redington, which will see the wholesaler distribute Acer's products across the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The alliance forms part of Acer's aggressive channel and marketing strategy for 2003, as it aims to capture a significant proportion of the fast-growing PC and peripherals retail market.
Under the terms of the agreement, Redington will distribute a range of Acer products, whose portfolio includes notebook computers, LCD monitors and personal computers. Redington will build a dedicated team to concentrate entirely on distributing Acer products and ensuring maximum market coverage. In addition, Redington will be providing its world-class standards of service and support to customers who purchase Acer products.
The collaborative alliance comes at a time of high growth in the UAE's computer and peripherals market. Recent research from the Madar Research Group estimates that PC penetration has doubled in the past four years, with high demand for the newest and best technology. Acer has a history of successful partnerships in the region, and this new alliance with Redington will extend its reach and reinforce its wide-ranging marketing and sales plans.
Established in 1976, Acer employs marketing and service operations across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, supporting dealers and distributors in over 100 nations. Acer Middle East has its own facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. The 22,500 square meter regional office includes a warehouse and a customer and technical service center capable of handling component-level repairs. — (menareport.com)
