Acer Computers has reported that its notebook sales have increased by 85 percent year-on-year in Kuwait. To date, both Acer's Celeron and Centrino-based notebooks have recorded strong sales results in Kuwait.

The growth has been attributed to competitive pricing, expansion of the company's reseller network in the Gulf state and the wide variety of models made available over the past year, stated a press release.

“The overall notebook market in the Middle East is growing in excess of about 50 percent year-on-year… So far, we have recorded 85 percent growth on 2002,” said General Manager of Acer Computers Middle East, Krishna Murthy.

Established in 1976, Acer is among the world's top ten branded PC vendors. Acer employs marketing and service operations across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, supporting dealers and distributors in over 100 nations. Established in 1992, Acer Middle East has over 100 employees servicing the IT requirements of over 50 countries and has its own facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. — (menareport.com)
