Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd has reported strong sales for its new Folio range of notebook PCs, following their Middle East launch in July. The region-wide demand for the Acer TravelMate and Aspire notebooks has further strengthened the vendor’s position in the Saudi Arabian and UAE markets.
The full array of Folio notebooks is currently on display at Acer’s GITEX stand.
The new family of Acer notebooks is a complete PC offering, with models designed for home, SMB and corporate users.
“The Folio notebooks have been quickly adopted by consumers in the Middle East, and we have seen significant sales in key Middle East markets following their introduction,” said Krishna Murthy, general manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. “This was a major product launch for Acer, and we are delighted at the positive response we have received from consumers so far.”
“We anticipate that the Folio range will be the most popular notebooks for executives in the Middle East within a year. As well as gaining market share, we are also putting offerings from other vendors in the shade,” added Murthy.
Sales of Folio notebooks have been particularly strong in the Levant, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Recent figures from international analysts IDC have shown Acer to be the number one notebook vendor in the Kingdom, with 22.7 percent market share. Acer executives are predicting that its success in two of the region’s key markets will also be echoed in other territories across the region.
“Feedback from customers across the region has been extremely positive, with the notebooks design featuring prominently in customer comments,” said Murthy. “The Empowering Key (eKey) has also proven to be a popular feature, allowing consumers quick access to management functions, such as power and presentation settings.” (menareport.com)
