3Com Middle East Monday announced new enhancements to its OfficeConnect family of wireless products. 3Com has added the “Turbo Mode” feature on its OfficeConnect 11a/b/g wireless access points and client devices to give users an increase in high-speed wireless from 54 Mbps up to 108 Mbps. Turbo Mode wireless extensions offer customers the most current in high-speed wireless options amid evolving wireless market trends.

3Com also enhanced its OfficeConnect Wireless 11a/b/g access points with the Wireless Distribution System (WDS), a flexible product feature that allows business customers to build a completely wireless infrastructure without connecting equipment to a wired local area network (LAN).

"The ongoing program of enhancements and improvements of 3Com’s wireless products means that we can offer our customers in the Middle East one of the strongest choices in wireless network offerings on the market today,” said Neal Kaufman, director of small business product management, 3Com.

The Turbo Mode feature, which is already supported on 3Com’s enterprise-class Wireless LAN Access Point 8750, 8250 7250 and 11a/b/g wireless PC adapters, and now implemented in the OfficeConnect wireless products, give small business users the opportunity to take advantage of the jump from 54 Mbps to double the speed. Instead of forcing customers to pick one type of wireless standard over another, 3Com supports Turbo Mode extensions across its tri-mode 802.11 products. The enhanced wireless network delivers more bandwidth to speed up the performance of demanding business applications for mobile workers.
