The mid-size car market in the region will grow by 10 percent in the coming year due to new standards in international quality, performance and price that are being made available to Middle East consumers, according to Japanese automobile-maker Honda.

Speaking at the recent regional launch of the new 2003 Honda Accord in Dubai, General Manager of Honda Motor Co Middle East Office Yukio Honda explained that new benchmarks in international auto manufacture will see more first time buyers entering at the mid-sized level and a greater conversion amongst existing car owners to this segment.

In the Middle East, Honda Accord sales are expected to top 10,000 units during 2003. That will push cumulative Accord sales in the region to more than 50,000 units for the past six years. — (menareport.com)
